CITRINE design shop Issaquah WA

We did it! CITRINE design shop is officially OPEN :).

Over the past month or so we've been settling into our new digs at Gilman Village and opened the doors (softly) on November 1st. And let us just say... in our first 3 weeks we've already received so much love + support from friends new and old (silver and gold?), near and far.

We've been exploring the neighborhood, and have found so.very.many things to love about Issaquah already. Some of our faves so far:

Gilman Village neighbors:

The Nifty Knitter - An absolutely beautiful friendly yarn boutique, stocked with hard-to-find fibers and all the knitting gear you could dream of. The owner even makes a line of hand-dyed yarn <3.

Recology - Run by the local waste management department, this shop specializes in waste-reducing products like Swedish dishcloths, produce bags and re-usable straws.

The Black Duck Cask & Bottle (21+) - Gastropub-y goodness. Tasty pizzas, burgers and the like - and of course, there's duck involved :). There's also a menu of Old Fashioned's. Do we really need to say any more? (Order "The New Old Fashioned" - if you're into that kind of thing).

The Well & Table - A farm-to-table restaurant working with local farms, wineries, breweries and more. Seasonal menus mean there's always something fresh to try!

Close by:

Boehm's Candies- An 80 year old chocolate factory in a Swiss chalet, Boehm's is the definition of a sweet stop. Founded in 1942 by Julius Boehm (who escaped Austria through the Swiss Alps in 1940), this local staple and family-run spot offers classes + tours, and all the classic confections you can think of.

Xochi Food Truck - While we haven't made it here just yet, we've heard on good authority that this is a local fave. Multiple people have recommended it each week - giving it high marks for both taste and service.

The Issaquah Alps - If you're due for a little forest bathing, spend some time on one of the many nearby trails. Check out the Issaquah Alps Trails Club for some great ideas of where to start.

We're so glad to be part of the Issaquah community and are looking forward to sharing more spots as we get around town. Keep your eyes peeled for follow up posts highlighting more of our Gilman neighbors and other things to see and do in the area <3.

ps: for our WSEA friends - We've brought some of your fave lines along with us to the new spot. And... a number of other brands are represented by our neighbors here in the Village! Elizabeth Person's mountain range canvases + map prints, San Juan + Jacobsen salts and those Morihata charcoal face puffs are all available within a few steps of CITRINE. And there are two, count 'em TWO shops with selections of Hobo! Etc etc :). So... if you make the trip out to see us we think you'll like what's going on in our little pocket of town <3.
